By R. Gerry Fabian
The hard sleep
is when
you,
who licked my face
in summer frolic heat
or
shook
winter ice tangles
over me,
can barely slide
along the floor
and
I
hold your trembling
form
and make
elementary excuses
for
the obvious
answer.
