By Benjamin Parker
Copper lining springs dew
upon the scuppered plane;
gargoyles dispersed into moisture.
A falling balance, suspended
between light and the cruel dark,
the visual stain of empty wallets.
In our world of deficiency,
cold shivers with kindness.
The gentle mist of tea
turns cream into crimson,
paralysis into prosperity.
Relish the blissful pocket
un-plagued by an icy kiss.
Witness the swirling mist
evade the kind side of the glass.
Savour flickers of comfort,
a weathered black sweater,
the island of warmth
clung to the oven door.
The scent of banana muffins
made sweeter with laughter,
made softer with care.
Our monument of pillows descends
to the shoreline of the screen.
Palms, kindness and salvation.
