Oracle From My Dreams Tells Me
You are a forever girl.
Jewel-toned ambitions,
Bruising egos blue purple pink,
Eyeliner sharp as confidence;
Don’t hold your bold, unwavering lip;
You are a fighting soul; forced
To be formidable; Be invincible;
Be a nightmare, a lover:
Healed, healing, wanting
To heal all the hurt you see;
Citywide skyscraper laugh,
Countryside sky smile.
Yet hiding how your heart loves,
Cowering from your cradle; Don’t;
Courage in your core will crystalize;
And when you finally summon it,
Facing your fear, it will be sealed
In cement, refusing to present
Itself; Not sharing love is a
Symptom of oppression;
Stay soft, forever girl,
The only way girls can be,
And you will give the craven nightmares,
Let the craven live their nightmare,
For they will be searching for it
Anyway. I was like you once, you know.
I loved like you once,
And the ones like you
Once: the dreamer, the fighter,
The healer, and also the lover;
The girls; Us girls; Until I became
Cold, I was just like you once. I am
Just like you.
