a foreign concept. a lost soul, a gaze that doesn’t know where to linger. a heart beating a moment
too soon, and a mind that doesn’t know what thoughts aren’t right to have. knowing there is
something past your body, knowing you are part of something more, but never knowing how to
reach it. pretending the moon is your mother in the dead of the night. a father who finally
remembered how to laugh. a mother recalling a way to share her warmth. close enough to kiss but
too far to touch. peace, quiet tranquility, found hidden in the flowered fields and twisting orchids. a
laugh that is enough to drown in. the sweetened feeling of holding a hand within another.
maybe now, we have finally found ourselves a home.
