other worlds

By Stephen House

morning light creeps
into the heavy grey sky
as i take part in a dawn ritual
in a small Shiva temple

and as lightning strikes
over the surrounding land
and thunder cracks
calling from the skies
and the first heavy fall
of the monsoon
begins to drench the land
i see appear a pure silver glow
flowing from the sky
into the Himalayan horizon
and washing over all of us

here by Ganga
near Rishikesh

and i know
more than anything
in this present moment
it is reminding me
obstacles can be removed
miracles do happen
and happiness is available

and falling into other worlds
for a time in one’s life
does not mean one is lost
to them forever

anything is possible
Om Namah Shivaya
